Shimon Constante – CEO
A trail-blazer in the cellular applications market, Shimon Constante is a Co-Founder and CEO of mPortico, a mobile media company which has developed a universal platform for improving the delivery of rich content – such as video, gaming, advertising and ring-tones – over memory cards for use with mobile phones. In this capacity, he applies nearly a decade of experience in corporate entrepreneurship and management in technology companies.
Shimon previously served in various managerial positions in hi-tech companies, where he took a leading role in developing their marketing and market-penetration strategies. In addition to the mobile market, Shimon has broad experience in the online and gaming sectors.
Prior to founding mPortico, Shimon was the Head of Mobile Business Development at 888 Holdings (888.com), an online entertainment company. Earlier, Shimon was the Head of Technology and Business Research at Aduva, a privately-held technology company.
Shimon currently serves on the boards of directors of Cidway Security, a world leader in mobile device security, access management, authentication and payment technology, and Phantom Fiber (PHFB.OB) a leading developer of technology-driven wireless software applications and mobile solutions.
Shimon holds an Executive MBA from Kellogg, Northwestern University.
Matthew Shapiro – EVP Business Development
As Co-Founder and EVP Business Development and Marketing at mPortico, mobile marketing expert Matthew Shapiro spearheads the development and management of the Company’s new business opportunities. With a firm foothold in technology, wireless and online advertising sectors, he is instrumental in crafting mPortico’s strategic partnerships.
For more than eleven years, Matthew has worked in technology start-up companies, as well as with established market leaders. Matthew has assumed leading roles in managing both business development and marketing for McAfee Internet Security’s SMB Division, Firetalk Communications, a pioneering VOIP technology startup, and Walker Interactive Systems, an enterprise financial solutions provider to the Fortune 1000. Matthew also served on direct and interactive ad agency account teams for Cisco Systems and Wells Fargo Bank.
In addition to successes in the marketing niche, Matthew has successfully raised seed and first round capital from private and institutional investors in the United States and Israel.
Matthew holds a BA in Organizational Communications from San Francisco State University and studied at the University of London through the AIFS program. Gil Schmidt – VP Products Gil Schmidt leads mPortico’s Product Division, bringing extensive mobile, Internet and audio/visual experience from the software development and management levels. Gil has nearly a decade of experience in software development, five years of which were in the mobile domain.
Prior to joining mPortico, Gil was the J2ME teams leader at Oberon-Media, creating and designing future mobile games and mobile products. During this period, he focused on designing mobile games for the mass market covering porting and cross platform initiatives including PC to mobile integration.
At an earlier, cutting-edge company, Gil was a lead developer and a project manager in the New Applications Department in the Technology Division of Orange mobile telecommunication’s representative in Israel – Partner. There, he focused on managing and implementing complex VAS technology projects.
Gil received a Bsc. in Software Engineering from The Academic Engineer College in Tel Aviv, Israel.
Rani Rimon – Head of R&D Rani Rimon joined mPortico in August 2008 to lead the Company’s R&D Department. He brings more than a decade of experience in mobile and Internet development and management experience in both server and client-side businesses.  Prior to mPortico, Rani was the driving force behind the Client Development Group at Cecure Gaming, the creator of the first real-time, multiplayer poker and casino games optimized for play on mobile phones. During this period, Rani established and managed the team that designed and implemented the company’s real-time online multiplayer platform and the client-server architecture and protocols, as well as invented multiple patented innovations.  Before joining Cecure, Rani was an inventor and entrepreneur, whose accomplishments include inventing a system that enables users to play PC / PS2 games on 3G mobile handsets. In addition he created the business plan that eventually led to the projects funding and launch.  Earlier in his career, Rani was Mobile Development Team Leader at Keshet Interactive, where he led a team of developers in the design and development of a platform enabling rapidly mobile applications, as well as an online mobile multiplayer game platform (The Vault).  Rani graduated with a B.Sc. degree in Computer Science from the Tel Aviv Academic College.
